The next destination in our list was the Wonderla Amusement Park. We had been waiting for this amusement park for a long period of time and my kids were extremely excited. We knew that stays open from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekdays and up to 7:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. There is no doubt about the fact that it is one of the top amusement parks of the country and is looked after by Wonderla Holidays Ltd.
It is massive in size and occupies around 82 acres of area. We came to know from one of the members that the company had to invest more than INR 2.5 billion for setting up the park.
As the name indicates, we had a lot of masti and fun inside the park. It is one of the ideal spots for a family and boasts of more than 50 adventurous rides suitable for people of all ages. There are around 55 water and land based rides inside the park. It also organizes a virtual reality show, laser shows, musical fountain shows, etc.
We also went to the dance floor where we had a lot of fun under the rain showers which were controlled electronically. But the best thing about the park is that it has a separate site completely separate for children. I could easily feel the excitement of the kids as their eyes were gleaming with joy. Both my kids were very happy to explore the free fall ride designed for kiddies. I, along with my husband, kept wondering at how the rides were so gentle yet so exciting and unique.
One of the members of the park told us that the heat used for keeping the water warm during the winters is derived from solar energy. We also had our lunch at one of the five restaurants available. The total complex of restaurants can accommodate more than 1,000 people at a time. The building used for housing the locker rooms had more than 2,350 lockers along with showers and restrooms. It also has a resort spread over an area of 100,000 sq. ft. and made up of 84 rooms.
