Ooty is a place that always brought back happy memories as we celebrated our love, oops ! our honeymoon in this heavenly hill resort! The magic of the Blue Mountains, the mist covered valleys , the lush-green lawns, the enchanting gardens filled with dalias, roses, were the sweet memories that made me decide to visit this hill resort again with my kids. It was a big rigmarole of packing as we were told the climate of Ooty is cold throughout the year and we need woolens to keep us warm in the night.

Ooty climate is what that siphons people from all over the world and since we visited during April , the summer holidays , it was fabulous. The staffs in the Lake View Hotel that we stayed told us that we were indeed lucky to come here in April as this was the best season to visit Ooty. They informed us that there are two peak seasons in Ooty and one is from April to June and the second season starts from September to November. They even told us that the maximum average temperature goes as high as 21degree C and as low as 5 degree C during winters , and during that time there are not much visitors and the hotels have a lean period.

But since we visited Ooty in its peak season the surroundings was very beautiful and you can say every single blade of grass and every flower was in full bloom! The parks, the wildlife, and the Lakeview hotel which we stayed were all picture-perfect and made us feel that we couldn’t have chosen a better destination for our family vacation!
